Cookie Policy

The website shows no advertising and has no social media pixels. The only thing that sets cookies is Google Analytics, and only if you accept it.

The first time you open the website, a window asks whether you accept statistics cookies. The Accept and Reject buttons carry equal weight and nothing is preselected. Until you answer, and if you decline, no request is sent to Google.

The fonts load from our own server. The map on the Contact page is an image from OpenStreetMap, stored on our own server, and needs no consent; the Get Directions button opens Google Maps in a new tab only if you press it. The styling and the icons load from public content delivery networks (cdn.tailwindcss.com, unpkg.com), which set no cookies and receive only the technical details of the connection, such as your IP address.

The BookOnlineNow booking engine opens in a new tab only when you press Book Now or send a booking form. It runs at its own address (hotel-chryssiakti.book-onlinenow.net), with its own cookies and terms; this window does not cover them.

• _ga (Google Analytics): tells visitors apart with a random identifier, so visits can be counted. Duration 2 years, only with consent.
• _ga_ plus the website's code (Google Analytics): keeps track of the current visit, so the pages you read in it can be counted. Duration 2 years, only with consent.
• Your answer in the consent window (us): remembers whether you accepted or declined, so we do not ask on every page. Duration 12 months. It is not a cookie: it stays in your browser's local storage and does not travel over the internet.

The contact form works without cookies.

With your consent we use Google Analytics 4 by Google to see, in aggregate, how many people visit the website, which pages they read, which country and approximate city they are in, what device they use and where they came from. We also count how many messages are sent, how many people tap our phone number or email address, and how many open the booking engine. Google Analytics 4 does not store your IP address. We do not switch on advertising features or Google signals, and we do not link the statistics to the message you send us. The data is kept for 14 months and then deleted automatically. We also use Google Search Console, Google's tool for website owners. It shows us in aggregate which searches the website appears for. It places no cookies on your device and does not show us who you are: verification is done with a record in the domain's DNS.

You can change your answer whenever you like: at the bottom of every page there is a Cookie settings link that brings the window back. If you decline after having accepted, Google Analytics stops and its cookies are deleted from your device.

Every browser also lets you view, block and delete cookies in its settings. Doing so does not affect any part of the website, including the contact form and the booking forms.

The details you enter in the contact form have nothing to do with cookies: we receive them by email, keep them for twelve months and handle them as described in the Privacy Policy.
